GUIDELINES
Presenter's Proposal Guidelines:
1. Deadline for proposals is
January 31, 2020
2. Lead presenters pay no conference fee.
3. Co-presenters pay full conference price.
4. Length of all presentations will be 45 minutes.
5. To complete the Proposal Form download the form above and fill in all applicable fields on the Proposal Form (use N/A for those that don't apply). Once you have completed the form please save it on your computer and then email it to Dr. Claudia Garcia as stated on the form.
5. Presenters should provide their own laptops, adaptors and special media required to deliver the presentation.
PRESENTATION TOPICS
Presentation topics of interest:
Effective classroom practices; Biliteracy development; Writing in the early grades; Culturally relevant pedagogy; technology in the bilingual classroom; Community engagement; Parent Involvement; Effective ESL strategies in the Bilingual Program; Anchor charts that lead to success; Special Education of ELLs; others.
PRESENTATION FORMAT
Presentation and Discussion
(45 minutes)
—Presenters provide attendees insight into a topic of interest to educators involved in the education of Bilingual or ESL students. The presentation can be a demonstration of a topic presented through various mediums (video, role play, or PowerPoint, for example). Presenters should allow time for attendees to discuss their thoughts and questions in order to extend the learning.
Hands-On Workshop
(45 minutes)
—Through a hands-on workshop, presenters provide attendees the opportunity to learn by creating innovative foldable, hands-on class activities, concept maps, etc.… that have brought them success in the classroom. In this setting, attendees increase their understanding by participating in hands-on activities and presenters have an opportunity to share how student success has been accomplished through these particular activities.
