Members are eligible to make nominations for SAAABE’s Bilingual Teacher of the Year and SAAABE ESL Teacher of the Year as well as Administrator of the Year and Community Advocate.
School campuses with the highest number of members and support will be highlighted on SAAABE’s website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts;
Receive SAAABE communications with information about membership, board meeting outcomes, sponsorship, professional development, bilingual education articles, and much more.
Membership Process
Membership in SAAABE is open to anyone interested in the promoting the effective implementation of the components of Bilingual, Bi-literate, Bi-cultural education in the San Antonio and surrounding area, through the interchange of ideas and practices.
Dues are $40 a year for teachers, administrators, and other professional school personnel, $20 for university/college students, parents, and paraprofessionals. A portion of each member's dues is shared with the Texas Association for Bilingual Education (TABE), of which SAAABE is a local affiliate.
The membership year runs from December 1, 2017 through November 30 , 2018, and the application period starts October 15, 2017. Applications that are received after December 1, 2017 will be honored only through November 30, 2018.
